Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright was born 17 February 1991. She is an actress, model and director from England. Wright is best known for her performance in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. She was as the character for 10 years before moving on to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011). After the Harry Potter series, Wright appeared in a series of independent films which included Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013), and After the Dark (2014) and After the Dark (2014). The films received mixed reviews. Wright made her debut on stage with Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth in 2013 at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2012 she graduated from University of the Arts London with a degree in filmmaking. In 2012, she founded BonBonLumiere and began producing short films. She directed her first film, the coming-of age drama Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at the Cannes Film Festival to great public acclaim. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films used landscape and emotion as the themes. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa’s Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and based upon A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace, Lumos and has received recognition for her environmental activism.
