Rashida Jones

Rashida Jones was the younger daughter and media producer, mogul, Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Kidada Jones is her older sister. She is also the half-sibling of five from her father's other relationships. Her father is African-American, and her mother Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant from the emigrants who emigrated from Russia as well as Latvia). Rashida was born into Reform Judaism. Her birthplace was Bel Air, Los Angeles. Jones has said of her mixed race parentage, "It was the 1970s and it's not even that acceptable for them to be together." Jones has made her professional acting debut in The Last Don, a mini-series from 1997 based upon the novel by Mario Puzo. Rashida has also graduated from Harvard University in 1997. She attended the Buckley School in Sherman Oaks (California). Voted the Most Likely Sufferer. Arabic (O+ O'UO-O(c) (her name) is a reference to "Major," adult, mature, wise or elder. Quincy Jones III was also present during the introduction and sang the lyrics from Shakur's poem "Starry Night." The title of the song was inspired by the poem. Rashida is an African-American, and has little English, Scottish, or Welsh ancestry than his mother (some of his African family members are of the Tikar tribe from Cameroon). Her maternal grandfather was born to New Yorkers, while her maternal grandmother was of Eastern European Jewish heritage. Since the end of 2009, she was playing three characters that go by the title "Karen" on cult classic comedy shows on TV (Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella (2005) and The Office (2005)).
