Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose") McGowan was born September 5, 1973. She is an American actress. After her film debut in her brief appearance in the comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan was recognized for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995) with an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. Her breakthrough role came in the horror film Scream in the year 1996. Her next film was the films Jawbreaker (1999) and Devil in the Flesh (2000). McGowan's character as Paige Matthews on the WB supernatural drama Charmed (2001-2006) was her most famous role. Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film Grindhouse (2006) which was the film in which she won the Saturn Award for Best Actress and the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. Her debut album, Planet 9, was released in 2018. The album was followed by a revamp of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was honored by Time as the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year for 2017. She spoke out against sexual assault and harassment and specifically the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. In the year 2018, she published Brave, a memoir, and appeared in Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
