Rochon was raised in Torrance. Rochon is the child of Zelma Staples (a nurse practitioner) as well as Samuel Staples (a businessman and graphic artist). Cerritos was her primary high school. She graduated in 1982. Rochon received a diploma in broadcast journalism from California State University Dominguez Heights (CSUDH) in 1986. Her other minors include theatre, sociology and theatre. Rochon has returned to CSUDH in the year 2016, was the keynote speaker for CSUDH's College of Arts and Humanities graduation ceremonies.

Heather Storm, a television writer and producer with a major network is one of the top TV hosts. She is a woman with an obsession for cars. She hosted for Garage Squad, a Discovery MotorTrend Network series, Street Tuner Challenge which is a Speed TV show, and she was a guest on Jay Leno's Garage. Heather's digital travel program, Drive Yourself Local is the name of a show where she drives across America in an old 1965 Ford Mustang and shares small town tales. Heather has been featured in several television and film shows that include Nightingale as well as Epic Movie.

Ullerup was cast as Julia Brynn, a character in the remake show Battlestar Galactica that aired 2006 on Sci Fi Channel. In the initial two seasons on Sanctuary, she was Ashley Magnus until the character was removed. People were angry over her departure and were hoping to see her come back for future shows. Sanctuary ended 2012 but not without an intense debate. In 2016, Ullerup was cast as Bree O'Brien in Chesapeake Shores. Ullerup played Maggie Thomas in Asteroid: Final Impact, the movie which was about the catastrophe of 2015. Since the year 2016 Ullerup has had a recurring character in the role of Dale Travers in Hallmark's Signed, Sealed, Delivered movies series.
